1. Log in to current provider's cpanel account
2. Go to "Backup Wizard", and click on "Backup" button.
3. Click on "Full Backup", and fill in the form as follows:-
- Backup Destination: Home Directory
- Email address: your email address
4. Click "Generate Backup". You will get message as follows:-
"Full Backup in Progress …
5. Wait until you get notification of successful backup. Once successful, connect to current provider using FTP client, with same cpanel credentials, and download the full backup file just generated, normally in the form of this file name: backup-4.17.2017_10-47-16_accountname.tar.gz
PART II: FULL RESTORE OF SITE AT NEW PROVIDER
1. Log in to new provider's WHM reseller account
2. Type "restore" in left hand menu, and click on "Restore a Full Backup/cpmove File"
3. Scroll down to "Transfer method", and choose "Restore with file". Choose the backup file you just downloaded, and click "Restore".
4. Restoration process will begin. Wait for it to complete and ensure no errors / successful.
PART III: DNS SWITCHOVER
1. For non .my domains, go to any Whois service and enter the website domain, take note of the registrar and login to it. Change the nameservers to:-
ns1.nocser.net
ns2.nocser.net
ns3.nocser.net
2. For .my domains, Go to MyNIC Whois : whois.domainregistry.my , enter website domain.
- Scroll down to "Technical Contact Code". If you have access to the email stated there, take note of the Contact Code, proceed to login to MyNIC here: https://domainmanager.mynic.my/Mynic-ViewController-context-root/faces/PB/UserLogin.jsp ( use forgot username, followed by forgot password links to gain access )
- If you do not have access to Technical Contact, you need to log in as Administrator contact to change the technical contact.
- Once logged in as Technical Contact, in main menu, go to Domain Name -> Modify Domain.
- Enter website domain, then choose Add / Remove / Change Nameserver.
- Replace all existing values with the following:-
ns1.nocser.net
ns2.nocser.net
ns3.nocser.net
3. Double check the modifications via whois. Wait for a few hours (up to 1 day) for the new DNS information to propagate. Check via DNS lookup or ping, to make sure website now points to the new provider IP ( e.g. 42.0.28.x ).
4. Once confirmed website now active in new provider IP, test browse the site and verify all OK.
