Overview
You uploaded new files through FTP, but your website still displays the old content. This is usually a caching or file location issue — not an FTP problem.
Common Causes & Fixes
1. Browser cache
Your browser is showing a saved copy.
→ Hard refresh: Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac). Or test in incognito mode.
2. Wrong upload folder
Files were uploaded to the wrong directory.
→ Make sure files go into public_html (or the correct addon/subdomain folder), not the home directory.
3. Old files not overwritten
FTP may have uploaded alongside old files instead of replacing them.
→ Check file dates in your FTP client and re-upload, choosing overwrite.
4. Index file conflict
An old index.html may be loading instead of your new index.php (or vice versa).
→ Delete or rename the outdated index file.
5. Server/CDN cache
Your host or a CDN (e.g., Cloudflare) is serving a cached version.
→ Clear the cache in cPanel (e.g., LiteSpeed Cache) and purge your CDN cache.
6. DNS propagation
If you recently changed servers, DNS may not have updated yet.
→ Wait 24–48 hours, or flush your DNS cache.
